Hello! This is the brand new form for you to write up a recipe for Foodwhirl! Since the whole point of this site is REAL cooks who cook REAL food, it’s only fitting that readers should be able to share their own recipes. So if you think you have a good recipe for Foodwhirl, here’s your chance! Note – Only simple recipes with 1 photograph are allowed with this form. If you’d like to contribute a more complex recipe, email us for details on the process.
If you’d like to share your recipe on Foodwhirl, here are some guidelines to follow to help your recipe be selected for inclusion.
Guidelines:
- Pick a great recipe! It should be something our readers would like to see, and a bit unusual is preferable (ie not your average spaghetti and meatballs)
- Recipes do NOT have to be original to you, but if it’s not your original creation, please cite and/or link to the source of the recipe. And your write up should add something — extra techniques, lessons learned, modifications to the original, etc (otherwise just use our Suggest a Link page to link to the original recipe).
- We know you’re cooks, not photographers, but good photography is really important to show off your recipe… We don’t necessarily reject a recipe due to mediocre photos, but good photos DO help! So pick your best shot. Remember, natural light helps!
- Photos should be of the actual item you cooked. Don’t steal photos from other sites. If you do have to use someone else’s photo for some reason, make sure it is licensed for this use (ex: CC licensed) and is appropriately credited/linked back within the post.
- The introduction is important! Tell us what’s so great about this recipe…entice us to make it.
- Oh yeah, and we reserve the right to reject anyone for any reason, since we’re just evil that way. And make modifications if necessary.
You don’t have to have an account on Foodwhirl to submit, but if you do, you’ll be able to see the status of your submitted recipes.
