Here at Foodwhirl HQ, we occasionally get products to review, and one of the ones I received ages ago was Just Great Stuff Organic Powdered Peanut Butter. I kept meaning to try it in a smoothy or something, but I’m just not really a smoothy kind of girl. And I kinda forgot I had it. I mean what the heck would I need powdered peanut butter for? Well, I pulled it out the other day when doing stir fried noodles, and I now have the answer.
I was doing a quick noodle dish, with tofu and vegetables, and I was, as usual just making things up as I go. Basically just stirfrying the veggies until soft, adding the tofu (dry fried!) and some soy sauce, fish sauce, and rice vinegar to make a sauce. I added a heaping spoonful of the powdered peanut butter and stirred it in, and it thickened up the sauce just a bit and added a great peanut flavor.
I’ve tried it several times since then, and although I’ve yet to actually document a recipe (that would require measuring, and photographing, and I’m many times in too big a hurry for that!) I can safely say that powdered peanut butter is a great cheat for a quick peanut-y sauce.
Note: We get stuff to review occasionally, and I received this item to check out. However this is not a paid post or advertisement and we get no money for posting this. We only post our own true opinions, and if we don’t like something, we’ll either tell you that, or choose not to review it at all.
